Associate College: Persuasive Writing
Associate College: Persuasive Writing
Each month, RumbergerKirk’s associates come together for lunch and wisdom on a wide variety of topics as part of their overall professional development. This month, Miami partner Mike Holt discussed persuasive writing techniques. Orlando associate Graham Marcus shared insights he learned from his first Associate College luncheon:
- Just as a warrior invariably sharpens their blade, an attorney must consistently sharpen their writing.
- Clear, concise, and effective writing are hallmarks of a great attorney. Save for the exceptional motion or infrequent plea for appeal, persuasive writing takes many shapes and forms we take for granted: routine emails, client communication, and even conscientious scribbling.
- Attorneys who succinctly and cohesively frame their argument, while also successfully engaging the reader in the process, will find both continued success for their clients and for themselves.
