Blank Wins General Motors Trial

Hillsborough County, Fla. – Rob Blank, a partner with the Tampa office of RumbergerKirk, won a trial for General Motors, successfully defending the braking system on a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette.
The plaintiff claimed that defective brakes on his Corvette caused him to lose control of his car. Eyewitnesses testified the plaintiff was driving at an excessive rate of speed and made a sudden lane change in between two cars, hitting the front of one and the back of the other. The plaintiff then lost control of the Corvette. Blank persuaded the jury, which took only twenty-four minutes to deliberate, that the brakes had no defect.
The Honorable Ralph C. Stoddard, Circuit Court Judge, delivered the verdict in favor of General Motors. RumbergerKirk has represented General Motors for well over two decades.
