Brittney Polo has been elected to a two-year term to The Florida Bar Young Lawyer Division Board of Governors. She won the contested election for the 11th circuit, seat 6 after being appointed to the position last year. She will be sworn in for her new term at the Annual Florida Bar Convention in June.

“I firmly believe it is the duty of our generation to safeguard standards of our profession, and I am eager to continue to embrace this responsibility,” said Brittney. “This opportunity has been an honor and a profound source of inspiration fueling my desire to serve again in this capacity while equipping me with a deep understanding of the dedication required for the role.”

During her first year of service, Brittney focused on enhancing the YLD’s mentorship programs which provide invaluable guidance to both young lawyers and law students. She served as a member of the YLD Law School Affiliates Committee and the CLE committee. As part of the CLE committee, she helped to update and enhance the mandatory basic legal skills CLEs, ensuring that young lawyers receive the most current and relevant information to support them in their early years of practice. Additionally, she played a key role in organizing the YLD’S Inaugural Law School Symposium, a statewide groundbreaking event that brings together law students from all Florida law schools. She also volunteered to assist executive leadership with several important initiatives, including grading grant presentations, reviewing affiliate award applications, and nominations.

Brittney’s dedication and commitment to exceeding expectations was recognized by her peers as she won her election by a large margin. The Florida Bar News reported the results for five contested races during March balloting for the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, including Brittney’s race.
