Expecting the Unexpected: EEOC / FCHR Investigations
At the North East Florida Educational Consortium’s Risk Management Conference, Nicole Smith discussed U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity and Florida Commission on Human Relations investigations into complaints of discrimination. She shared initial steps to take upon receipt of a charge, how to plan and conduct the investigation and how to write an effective position statement. She provided examples of EEOC / FCHR forms, supporting documentary evidence, record-keeping requirements and confidentiality issues.
