LaShawnda Jackson Receives Outstanding Minority Partner Award
The National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division Recognizes LaShawnda Jackson For Her Outstanding Achievements
ORLANDO, Fla., July 17, 2024 – RumbergerKirk is pleased to announce that Orlando Partner LaShawnda Jackson has been awarded “Outstanding Minority Partner at a Majority Firm” by the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division. The award recognizes Jackson’s outstanding achievements and contributions in the community, the state of Florida, and the legal field.
Jackson accepted the award during the Annual Achievement Awards Breakfast in Las Vegas on July 16, 2024. The annual event, hosted by the Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association, celebrates the accomplishments of women for their exceptional impact to the legal field and community.
“We are incredibly proud of LaShawnda’s commitment to the legal community,” said Frank Sheppard, Managing Partner at RumbergerKirk. “Her significant contributions to both our firm and the community at large are extraordinary and this is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and excellence. For more than 20 years, she has devoted much of her time to bar service where she ensured the success of others through her many leadership positions. In addition, LaShawnda is an outstanding advocate and has excelled at client service throughout her career,” he added.
One who typically shies from the limelight, Jackson always wishes to focus on the organizations in which she serves and the ways in which they benefit both the legal community and the community at large, rather than on her as an individual. She has twice been named in Florida Trend’s “Florida 500,” its list of most influential business leaders in the state in 2019 and 2021.
Her dedication to leading and serving the legal community is inspiring. She served as the first Black president of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) in 2020 where she served as a member of the executive council since 2012. She served as president of the OCBA Young Lawyers Section and as a trustee of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. She has also held the position of president for other professional organizations including the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association and the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association, as well as holding committee positions for the National Bar Association.
Jackson, who practices in the areas of casualty and product liability has earned a reputation for excellent legal representation of clients and respect from her peers. She has been a partner at RumbergerKirk since 2011.
