LGBTQ+ Rights – Update from Florida
Larry Smith, RumbergerKirk Of Counsel, joined speakers from New Jersey and Florida to discuss the evolution of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in both state bar associations during the New Jersey State Bar Association Mid-Year Meeting for the LGBTQ Rights Section.
Topics of discussion included the metamorphosis of LGBTQ+ inclusion in both bars; adoption law evolution and pending LGBTQ+ litigation in Florida; and the contrasting constitutional rights to privacy in each state. They examined what lawyers from both states can do to improve the quality of life and secure equality for the LGBTQ+ community.
