Making It Work: How South Florida’s Summer Associate Programs Are Shaping Up in 2021, Daily Business Review
Firm leaders across the region are weighing the desire to mentor the next generation with lingering pandemic risks and their firms’ evolving work structures.
After hosting a mostly virtual summer program last year, Managing Partner Frank Sheppard discusses the firm’s plans to host an in-person Summer Associate Program between June and August this year in an article published in the Daily Business Review on May 27, 2021. He also shared that the firm doubled its typical associate class size to eight.
“Virtual hearings, and probably virtual depositions to a lesser extent, are here to stay, and I think it’s probably an advantage for a summer associate to learn how to do a hearing virtually,” Sheppard says. “Some of our workshops will be in-person. Our mock trial will be in-person.”
