Moving Past Exigent Circumstances: How to Bargain Your Employees Back to Work
During a webinar for the Florida School Labor Relations Service on May 28, 2020, Leonard Dietzen discussed how to involve union representation as school boards begin to formulate plans to reopen summer school and return to school in August.
He explored how the new federal leave laws would apply and emphasized the need for Boards to follow their current polices on leave for employees who are unable to come back to work. Dietzen also touched on how to comply with the Florida Sunshine Laws while engaging in virtual collective bargaining which he predicts will be a new option for negotiators.
