Partner Leonard Dietzen Offers Email Liability Insight at HR Florida 2007

Filled with offhanded remarks, unguarded comments and careless wording, email messages can be a disaster waiting to happen.  As a featured speaker at HR  2007 in Orlando, RumbergerKirk Partner Leonard Dietzen addressed email liability concerns and steps companies can take to minimize the risks associated with email misuse.  

Dietzen explained why developing and enforcing a comprehensive email policy is critical to any company’s risk mitigation strategy.  During his presentation, Leonard detailed a three-step process to help employers ensure a return on their investment.

1.          Identify the personal and company risks associated with using email.
2.          Discuss the critical components of a comprehensive email policy.
3.          Stress the importance of training all employees on the email policy –Not just to management.
                
HR Florida 2007 was the 29th Annual HR Florida State Conference & Expo, hosted by the HR Florida State Council, the state affiliate for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM.).  The event attracted more than 1,500 human resources professionals throughout Florida representing virtually every industry, and companies from small businesses to large industrial centers.
