Remembering 9/11 and Sending Packages to Troops Overseas
Firm ships 55 packages to troops serving in the Middle East
For the past 12 years, RumbergerKirk has been sending care packages to troops serving overseas every few months thanks to the dedication and heart of Lisa Griffin, Legal Assistant to Managing Partner Frank Sheppard. “As we commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, it felt even more important to show our support for those who put their lives in danger to protect our freedom,” said Lisa. “As usual, our team stepped up to ensure we had plenty of supplies to ship to more than 10 units serving in the Middle East.”
Boxes include essential supplies that can be difficult or expensive to obtain such as razors, shaving gel, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and baby wipes, which are often used in place of a shower. They also include socks and foot powder, lip balm, snacks and magazines and books.
Lisa was inspired when her own son was serving in the U.S. Marines and told her that there were so many soldiers who never received any packages or mail. Now, shipping troops packages every few months is a part of the firm’s DNA.
