RK Multicultural Food Festival Celebrates Our Diverse Cultures

Each July, the RumbergerKirk annual Multicultural Food Festival celebrates the diverse heritage of RumbergerKirk employees through food. Each office hosts a luncheon where employees make recommendations for their favorite restaurants and the food takes center stage.

In Tampa, the luncheon featured food from Caribbean Twist and Wicked Oak Barbeque. Caribbean Twist serves a mix of Cuban and Dominican Caribbean cuisine. Wicked Oak Barbeque is known for its award winning, slow-smoked meats, its home-style sides and homemade sauces.

Orlando featured food from several restaurants and cultures including Zaza (Cuban), The Mediterranean Spot (Greek), La Eskinna (Mexican), Viet-Nomz (Vietnamese), and Pattie Lou’s Donuts (Black Owned). From mini Cuban sandwiches and empanadas to falafels, hummus and pitas, Spanakopita; chicken and asada tacos and “make-your-own” Vietnamese bowls, there was a huge variety. Desserts ranged from Quesitos, guava cheese and guava to Pattie Lou’s delicious donuts topped with unique toppings.

In Tallahassee, our team celebrated diversity with Café  De Martin, a family-owned Peruvian favorite. Led by Chef Martín from Lima, Peru, the restaurant provides an authentic Peruvian cultural experience in Leon County.

Our Birmingham office enjoyed a delicious lunch from the Spice of Life Jamaican Restaurant. Menu items included: jerk pork, jerk chicken, garden salad, Rasta pasta with chicken, Jamaican rice and peas/beans, and plantains. They listened to a playlist of Jamaican music compliments of receptionist Gracie Lockett.

The Miami office had a wide range of food including Italian (baked ziti and chicken marsala), Nicaraguense (Plantains and Morro and Queso Frito y Carne Asada), Peruvian (Papa a la Huancaina, Causa de Pollo, Lomo Salteado y papitas, and  Chaufa de Pollo).

Bon Appetit!
