Rumberger Dispatches Cheer to Troops in Afghanistan
Once again, RumbergerKirk employees have shipped boxes of goodies to military personnel deployed in Afghanistan. Members from eight units, representing all branches of the military, will receive boxes containing patriotic decorations just in time to celebrate the Fourth of July. Carefully assembled by Rumberger employees, each box contains staples the troops look forward to receiving, such as socks, shave gear, personal hygiene items, coffee and snacks – as well as the occasional special request.
Lisa Griffin, legal assistant at Rumberger, has coordinated the quarterly shipments from the Orlando
office since the project’s inception in 2009. “Everyone looks forward to gathering items for the boxes. We want these to be a special treat, so a lot of effort goes into the project. This time, we sent out 43 boxes and each one contained items our men and women can use to decorate their barracks for the holiday as well as the ever-popular games and books.”
