RumbergerKirk has brought on an experienced construction and commercial litigation attorney for its Miami office.

Nicole Kwapisz is now a partner with RumbergerKirk, the firm announced Tuesday. She handles construction and complex commercial litigation for developers, architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors.

“I enjoy representing a wide variety of clients and collaborating with my colleagues on the larger construction cases, which often involve multiple parties and complex legal and factual issues,” Kwapisz said in a statement. “The construction industry is dynamic and constantly evolving. Offering clients individually tailored solutions that best meet their needs, whether in business negotiations, pre-suit, or litigation, is the most rewarding part of my job.”

Kwapisz aids clients in contract negotiations and drafting, construction defect and delay claims, surety bonds, construction liens and warranty claims, according to her profile on the firm’s website. She’s handled complex construction cases throughout Florida, as well as alternative dispute resolution through mediations and arbitrations.

In her work, Kwapisz handles aspects of a trial in multiparty matters involving large commercial projects, condominiums, single-family home communities, private residences and even infrastructure projects involving highways and bridges, with claims in excess of $180 million, her profile shows.

“Nicole’s impressive skillset along with her commitment to client service will be a tremendous asset to both the Miami office and the firm as a whole,” said Frank Sheppard, RumbergerKirk managing partner, in a statement. “Her focus on achieving exceptional results through collaboration and innovative strategies align with our firm values and commitment to excellence.”

Kwapisz got her start working as a litigation paralegal for South Florida law firms dealing with construction litigation. It was that experience that led her to become an attorney, the firm said.

She is a graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Barry University.

RumbergerKirk offers both litigation and counseling services in practice areas such as product liability, commercial litigation, construction, real estate, intellectual property litigation, securities litigation, labor and employment law, bankruptcy, insurance coverage, professional liability and administrative law.

The firm has offices in Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Tallahassee and Birmingham, Alabama.

“RumbergerKirk is a premier law firm that enjoys an impeccable reputation and maintains an impressive roster of clients. Any attorney wanting to hone professional skills would be lucky to work here. What attracted me the most to RumbergerKirk is its commitment to the firm’s core values, which include fostering a collaborative environment, mentorship, and providing a platform for its attorneys to succeed,” Kwapisz said.
