ORLANDO and MIAMI, Fla., February 1, 2022– RumbergerKirk has elected two new partners to the firm- Patrick Delaney in Orlando and Jens Ruiz in Miami.

Delaney represents automotive manufacturers in all phases of litigation involving Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Florida Lemon Law including arbitration before the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board and in lawsuits throughout Florida and Southeastern United States. He represents automobile manufacturers against negligence and strict liability claims based upon alleged product defects. In addition, he represents clients in casualty litigation defending companies against premises liability claims.
Delaney serves as co-chair of the Orange County Bar Association Professionalism Committee, and has been a member since 2016. In addition to being admitted to The Florida Bar, he is also admitted in Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
Prior to joining RumbergerKirk, Delaney served as both an Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant Attorney General. He successfully argued cases at every level of the Florida courts and has extensive experience arguing before the Florida Supreme Court. Before attending law school, Delaney worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative staff member to United States Senator George V. Voinovich.
Delaney graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2010 and The Catholic University of America in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in History.
Jens Ruiz

An experienced litigator, Ruiz focuses his practice in the areas of product liability, warranty and casualty litigation. He also has experience handling insurance coverage and bad faith matters. He defends a number of clients in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, automotive, boating, and personal watercraft industries throughout Florida involving negligence, product defect, and personal injury including catastrophic injuries and wrongful death.
Ruiz was invited to join the Product Liability Advisory Council in 2019, a not-for-profit association made up of more than 100 product manufacturers and the leading product liability defense counsel operating in the U.S. and abroad. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute along with both the Miami-Dade and Broward County Bar Associations.
In addition to his experience as an attorney, Ruiz draws on his past experience as a claims counsel in the employment specialty claims department of a national specialty liability lines insurer, overseeing complex employment practices litigation throughout the country. Before attending law school, Ruiz was involved with politics and worked on several local, state and federal campaigns.
Ruiz graduated from New York Law School in 2011 and Syracuse University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
