RumbergerKirk Participates in an Interview Workshop for FAMU Law Students

First year law students at Florida A&M University College of Law participated in an Interview Preparation Workshop with RumbergerKirk Human Resources Director Karen Garcia and Orlando Administrative Partner Sally Culley. Organized by FAMU College of Law’s Assistant Dean for Career Planning Randolph C. Reliford, the workshop focused on giving students an insider’s point of view for how to ace an interview with a law firm.

Sally and Karen shared a number of practical considerations from being prepared and doing your homework before the interview to examples of what does and does not work during an interview.

Key takeaways included:

  1. Dress professional, but wear something that makes you feel comfortable.
  2. Research the company you are interviewing.
  3. Use the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method to help you articulate your accomplishments.
  4. Be prepared to ask the interviewer some questions.
