Team Rumberger Raises Funds for the American Heart Association
Each year the American Heart Association raises money to combat coronary disease and stroke through its Greater Orlando Heart Walk. Having supported the effort for many years, Team Rumberger once again stepped forward to help.
In addition to raising money, the Heart Walk aims to promote physical activity to build healthier lives. Led by Charles Mitchell, a partner in the Orlando office of RumbergerKirk, twelve members of Team Rumberger participated in the 2013 5K Heart Walk. Helping to raise funds, the Orlando office raised additional funds during its Friday’s Casual for a Cause.
“This is the first year I have been involved with the Heart Walk,” said Mitchell. “It’s not only a great cause, but we had a lot of fun. I am really proud of all the people who participated – not only in the walk itself, but by providing enthusiastic encouragement for the effort and helping us raise a total of $3, 256.”
By 2020, the American Heart Association aims to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent.
