I can’t believe we have already been with Rumberger for eight weeks! I had a lot of fun with my work this week, and I am so excited for everything in store for the rest of the summer.
On Monday, I attended the Associate College Luncheon on trial prep strategies. This presentation was super helpful ahead of our upcoming mock trial, and I can’t wait to put everything I learned to use!
On Tuesday, I presented my case briefing at the Birmingham attorneys luncheon on the recent Supreme Court decision, Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo. In addition, I shared expected effects of the decision and important cases to watch. This presentation generated some really engaging conversations among all of the attorneys, and everyone was such a great audience. I had so much fun giving this presentation!
Thursday was a busy day. We attended the Direct and Cross Examination Workshop with Miami partners Scott Sarason and Suzanne Singer. I loved doing this workshop, and it got me a really great feel as to this specific area of trial. Scott and Suzanne gave amazing and encouraging feedback, and I look forward to preparing for my direct and cross examinations for the mock trial.
The Birmingham office hosted its multicultural food festival on Thursday. The receptionist, Gracie Lockett, and partner Pete Tepley set up a great lunch for us, with some really good food. It was a great experience!
We ended Thursday with a happy hour at Paramount with the Birmingham office. It is always a pleasure spending time with everyone, and I am so thankful for all the time everyone has taken to make me feel welcome.
Throughout the week, my mock trial partner and I began some of our meetings and practices for the mock trial. I am paired up with Ashley Bechtold, a summer associate in the Miami office. I am so excited! Even after just a few practices, I know that the mock trial will be such a fun and rewarding experience. We’re all going to do great!
I can’t wait to see where my next week takes me!
